The Summer School is unique in offering organised, structured chamber music opportunities and coaching, as well as superb learning experiences through the festival of concerts given by the tutors themselves (as resident artists all of them are leading performers as well as inspirational teachers). Based on the ethos of 'learning through listening, practice & performance', courses are run for string quartet, violin, viola, cello, saxophone, composition, jazz, voice Wind Octet (including Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, Horn and Oboe), Solo Clarinet, Solo Flute. New Courses for 2010 include Conducting, Harp and Choir. We are also offering a course in Practical Psychology for professional or student teachers and performers. Throughout the week the artists in residence can be found coaching ensembles, leading workshops, giving masterclasses and performing in the Festival concerts. Students also have the opportunity to perform in public and enjoy free entry to all festival events. For one week everyone lives, breathes and dreams music.

In general, the daily schedule will be as follows:

There will be a Party on the last Saturday following the Gala Concert and traditionally there is a cabaret consisting of items performed by staff and students alike. (Please come prepared!)

Please note: The Showcase conerts will take place on Saturday 31st July and there will be a evening performance and party afterwards so it is advised that students depart on Sunday 1st August morning.

Cyrsiau : Cyflwyniad

Mae'r Ysgol Haf yn unigryw gan ei bod yn cynnig cyfleoedd ac hyfforddiant disgybledig a strwythuredig ym maes cerddoriaeth siambr, yn ogystal a phrofiadau dysgu gwych trwy'r rhaglen o gyngherddau a gyflwynir gan y tiwtoriaid eu hunain (fel artistiaid preswyl maent i gyd yn berfformwyr blaenllaw yn ogystal ag athrawon dawnus). Yn seiliedig ar y syniad o 'ddysgu trwy wrando, ymarfer a pherfformio' trefnir cyrsiau gyda pedwarawd llinynnol, ffidil, fiola, soddgrwth, whtyawd chwyth, ffliwt, clarinet, sacsoffon, cyfansoddi, jas a llais. Trwy gydol yr wythnos bydd yr artistiaid preswyl yn hyfforddi'r grwpiau, yn arwain gweithdai, yn cyflwyno dosbarthiadau meistr ac yn perfformio yn y cyngherddau. Mae'r myfyrwyr hefyd yn cael y cyfle i berfformio'n gyhoeddus ac i fynychu yn rhad ac am ddim holl weithgareddau'r wyl. Am wythnos gyfan mae pawb yn byw, yn anadlu ac yn breuddwydio cerddoriaeth!
